How will history remember this moment ?

‘How will history remember this moment’… these words by Getup resound so strongly with me as I write this article.

Over the weekend, in 2,808 cities in 166 countries around the world, thousands of people took part in the ‘People’s Climate March‘, ahead of this weeks United Nations Climate Summit 2014.

My family and I set our alarms early on Sunday morning, and before the sun rose on this International Day of Peace, we made our way to Sunshine Beach (east coast of Australia) to take part in the 50km coastal walk as part of 1 of 2,808 Peoples Climate March events.

After the Welcome to Country by the Gubbi Gubbi people (photo Sunshine Coast Environment Council), we started Stage 1 of the 35 Stage, 50km walk south along the coast line. Each Stage was a 20 min walk as a message that we need to reduce our global emissions by 20% by the year 2020 in order to have a fighting chance of avoiding more than 2 degrees warming.

The picture to the left is our Stage 1 group about to take their first steps. It was great walking with such a vibrant group of passionate people, who love the Earth with all their heart. We walked with beautiful friends, made new friends along the way and shared our heart-felt visions for Earths future.

The People’s Climate March was the LARGEST GLOBAL WALK for climate action to have ever taken place, it was history in the making. As thousands of people from around the world gathered to proclaim their rights, it sends a clear message to leaders in the lead up to the UN Climate Summit… that NOW is the time for change !!!

Numbers are still being collated.. but it was estimated that 400,000 people marched in NYC, over 30,000 people here in Melbourne Australia and 40,000 in London. I look forward to finding out the final tally of numbers from around the world.

As the United Nations Emergency Climate Summit starts this week on the 23 September 2014, here is the vision of this meeting:

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has invited world leaders, from government, finance, business, and civil society to Climate Summit 2014 this 23 September to galvanize and catalyze climate action. He has asked these leaders to bring bold announcements and actions to the Summit that will reduce emissions, strengthen climate resilience, and mobilize political will for a meaningful legal agreement in 2015. Climate Summit 2014 provides a unique opportunity for leaders to champion an ambitious vision, anchored in action that will enable a meaningful global agreement in 2015.

Yes it is a sad fact, that the Prime Minister of Australia Tony Abbott does not see climate change as a real issue and has chosen to be a ‘no show’ as this weeks emergency UN Climate Summit. However, just because our PM chooses to be ignorant and stick his head in the sand, doesn’t mean the people of Australia cannot make a difference. As the Sunshine Coast Environmental Council says ‘where the people lead, the politicians will follow’.

The people of Australia stood proud this weekend, and came together as a unified voice to drive the change that is needed. I have to say I felt a very proud Australian on Sunday, and after seeing the photos from around the world of this Global March, I also felt a very proud global citizen of this Earth.

So now, as I reflect on the events of last weekend and hold in my heart a pro-active and conscious outcome for this weeks UN Climate Summit, the question that needs to be asked/answered is:

How will History Remember this Moment ?

Personally, I believe that this historical event is a major turning point of change here on Earth. As a global community the PEOPLE are standing up in the thousands, if not millions and are prepared to speak up and lead the world into a new era of caring for this Earth, minimising our footprint and being conscious guardians of this sacred planet for future generations.

Some of you may be thinking ‘well how can a simple weekend Global March create any real changes here on Earth ?

To answer this, all you need to do is look to quantum law and the metaphysical constructs of creation. As each of us take small conscious steps in our lives, these individual steps create a ripple in the field of potential, they create MOVEMENT. As this wave of energy builds collectively, it gains MOMENTUM and through critical mass a REVOLUTION takes place, which in turn potentiates a quantum leap in our EVOLUTION.

The conscious voice of those who ‘walked’ on the weekend has ignited a spark in the collective mind and hearts of humanity, the momentum is now building in intensity and a wave of revolutionary change in now imminent. We hope to keep this divine momentum going during our Spirited-Travellers World tour ♥

As I write this article today, today is the Spring/Autumn Equinox. The Equinox is where day and night are of equal length – the energies coming together as one – Heaven & Earth, Spirit & Matter. The Equinox is a powerful portal gateway of ascension into higher levels of consciousness. At this time of unity, the feminine & masculine merge as one, opening opportunities to unify duality within our selves, and expand our awareness to greater dimensional/light octave levels.

So on this Spring/Autumn Equinox, lets hold the highest potential vision for those leaders meeting this week at the UN Climate Summit so that last weekends MOMENTUM builds to a tipping point of REVOLUTIONARY solutions and meaningful steps of action for our world.
