Each year on 25 July, we honour our Day Out of Time… the sacred pause that marks the final day of the 13 Moon Mayan Galactic Calendar.

It is a day to release and complete the cycle that has been, before welcoming the 26 July and the beginning of a new 13 Moon Galactic Solar Year… a celebration of renewal, possibility and new beginnings.

The Gregorian Calendar

Many calendar systems are used throughout the world, yet the Gregorian Calendar is the one most commonly followed today.

Interestingly, the word calendar comes from the Latin calendarium—the name given to books used to record financial debts and payments. In ancient Rome, the first day of each month was known as the calends: the day upon which debts were due.

The Gregorian Calendar is a solar calendar, designed around the length of time it takes Earth to complete one orbit of the Sun. Its 365.2425-day solar year is divided into 12 months, each containing an uneven allocation of between 28 and 31 days. An additional day is added to February during a leap year, creating a year of either 365 or 366 days.

While the Gregorian Calendar serves a practical purpose, it does not necessarily reflect the greater rhythms of nature, her cycles, or the deeper meaning of time as a living spiral of growth, wisdom and evolving consciousness.

The 13 Moon Calendar

The 13 Moon Mayan Galactic Calendar offers a different relationship with time—one that is rhythmic, harmonious and deeply connected to the natural world.

It is based upon 13 Moons of 28 days each, creating a complete cycle of 364 days:

13 Moons × 28 days = 364 days

As Earth’s solar year contains approximately 365 days, the additional day becomes the Day Out of Time… a day that sits outside the regular 13 Moon cycle.

The 28-day rhythm also reflects the movement of the Moon around Earth.

The Moon’s synodic cycle, from New Moon to New Moon, is approximately 29.5 days. Whilst the Moon’s sidereal cycle… the time it takes to return to the same position among the stars…is approximately 27.3 days. The 28-day Moon offers a harmonious midpoint between these two celestial rhythms.

When our 365-day solar year is viewed through this 28-day lunar rhythm, it reveals 13 Moons plus one sacred day, the Day Out of Time.

Celebrated each year on 25 July, the Day Out of Time brings the old cycle to completion. Then, on 26 July, we step across the threshold into a new Galactic Solar Year with renewed clarity, sacred presence and a reawakened sense of inner purpose.

Why 25 and 26 July?

Within the 13 Moon tradition, 26 July is connected with the heliacal rising of Sirius, the moment the brilliant “Dog Star” becomes visible once again near the rising Sun.

For the ancient Egyptians, the return of Sirius was a sacred celestial marker, intimately connected with renewal, regeneration and the life-giving inundation of the Nile.

Sirius is the 7th-Dimensional Portal of Earth, our Universal Gateway and the Solar Gold Ray of Creation.

The energies of 26 July usher 7th-Dimensional LIGHT into Earth… an intense wave of vibrational intelligence that awakens consciousness and carries us into a new Solar Cycle of evolutionary growth.

The 25th of July, however, is the day between cycles, a “spare” day that belongs neither to the passing year nor to the year yet to come.

It is a day of no time and no thing.

A day of emptiness and spaciousness.

A day to rest within the sacred space between what has been and what is becoming.

Day Out of Time | 25 July

The Day Out of Time is a sacred invitation into stillness, to connect with Eternal Time and honour the ancient knowing that Time is Art.

It is a day to loosen our attachment to the linear passage of HIStory and allow ourselves to be nourished by HERstory…by presence, intuition and the eternal NOW.

This day represents the space between worlds: the pause between the in-breath and the out-breath, the still point between endings and beginnings. It is a rainbow bridge connecting the wisdom of the past with the infinite potential of the future… all held within the present moment.

July 25 is a day to allow the hardness of life to fall away.

To sit in awe and wonder at the miracle of being alive.

To surrender into nature’s eternal beauty and reconnect with the simple experiences that awaken your heart.

For me, the Day Out of Time is a day for watching the Sun rise, feeling the Earth beneath my feet and the soil beneath my fingernails, swimming in the ocean, and immersing myself in the alchemy of Lightrition. These are a few of the things that ignite my inner joy and deepen my appreciation for my precious time her(e) on Earth.

The Day Out of Time is also an invitation to express your radiance, to release the opinions, expectations and limitations that may have dimmed your LIGHT.

It is a day of ritual and reflection. A day to honour the year that has passed, gather the wisdom of all you have lived and learned, and gently bring the cycle to completion.

From this sacred space, you can begin to feel into the possibilities awaiting you.

The Day Out of Time is one of the most powerful days of the year for making meaningful SHIFTS in your life:

Shifts in your mindset.
Shifts in your beliefs.
Shifts in the stories you carry.
Shifts in who… or what… you once believed yourself to be.

May you sit in PRAYER within the present moment and listen deeply for the person your Soul is calling you to become.

May you release the cycle that has been with gratitude, forgiveness and reverence.

And may you step across the threshold into the new Galactic Solar Year with an open heart, ready to embody more fully who you came here to be.
