Libra New Moon

Libra is an Air sign and is ruled by Venus the planet of beauty & love and the seventh house of partnerships, business contracts & marriage.  A Libra new moon is about finding balance in our lives and serving something greater than ourselves through our Hearts. 

Relationships are the theme for Libra NEW MOONs.  The relationship you have with yourself, community, nature, as well as the relationship you have with others.  This includes business relationships, relationships toward current affairs, and beliefs about yourself that form the backbone of your relationships within the world.  

There are many challenging aspects to our October 2020 Libra New Moon that will challenge the vary foundations of ALL the relationships within your life.   But these challenges need not be bad, in fact the internal conflict that may arise within you has the power to open golden doors of opportunity & growth.

New Moon Aspects

Referring to the chart below, our Libra New Moon is making some interesting aspects to Mars retrograde, Saturn, & Pluto, as well as Asteroid Ceres.

The symbol for Libra is ‘The Scales’, the symbol of social justice.  With so many injustices painting the airways of 2020, our New Moon opposing Mars retrograde could really make us hot under the collar.   Mars rules energy, passion, action, initiative and asserting yourself out in the world.  But when in retrograde, this ‘action oriented’ planets energy lacks vitality as the energy is inverted inward. It can at times feel as if you are paddling upstream, with endless delays, roadblocks, setbacks and detours dotting your path.  

Rather than burn up your internal energy through anger, war & fighting during Mars Retrograde, it would be better to allow and ‘see’ how these delays can serve you.   Let go of the need to control, and instead take your awareness to a higher possible outcome. 

Both Saturn & Pluto are squaring our New Moon.  This uncomfortable aspect may have us outraged over our lack of freedoms, oppression, being controlled by political powers.  A feeling like the rubber-band of our lives is being stretched beyond its limits, about to break in any moment.    Whilst this sounds awful, I really feel Asteroid Cere’s is offering a silver lining to all the angst within the world right now.

Ceres is one of four major asteroids (the other three being Juno, Vesta & Pallas), that represent different aspects of the Feminine.  The energy of Ceres can be described as ‘Earth Mother‘ a deep nourishing love that exists within all of us.  Ceres represents fertility, nutrition / lightrition and how we experience nourishment in our lives through radical self-care.

Ceres is working behind the scenes this New Moon, behind the doors of our psyche to help us feel into a great possibility for humanity through the Feminine.   Cere’s may have you evaluate & gain insight into your relationships, what do these ‘gifts of insight’ bring to you.   You cannot CHANGE anyone.   You cannot change a global system that is fundamentally broken at its very foundations.  But you can change YOU, and you can change your relationship with the ‘story‘ that is currently playing out, and you can build a new model when you stand outside of the psychological confines of the decaying old system.

Ceres is reminding us to rise up beyond the current division in our global relationships, and to step away from the fight of who is right or wrong.  Ceres guides us to rise above all the dysfunction that is coming to the surface through Mars, Saturn & Pluto… by putting our attention to the LIGHTed path that is showing us HOW to build a new model.  Fighting the old is exhausting.  Coming together with people of like Heart & Soul is energising, empowering & gracefully uplifting.  Cere’s reminds us that we don’t live ON the Earth, but rather we are OF the Earth… and that is the key that opens the doors of reLOVEutionary change.

I feel that Ceres is playing a big role in our psyche’s this New Moon as we head toward so many powerfully astrological transits that bring the year 2020 to a close.
