This week we are graced by a 1 in 10 year Eclipse— a rare Hybrid Solar Eclipse which is both a TOTAL Solar Eclipse or an Annular Solar Eclipse (ring of fire) dependant upon your viewing location. In addition, this Eclipse is the 1st of 5 TOTAL Solar Eclipses to dance over Australia over the forthcoming 15 years— April 2023 to December 2038.
And there is more… this is our second Aries New Moon in a row. Last months March Aries New Moon fell at 00 Aries— auspicious energy for new beginnings, and now our April Aries New Moon falls at 290 Aries— the last degree of Aries, the full completion of a cycle. Aries New Moon Energy
Last months March Aries New Moon fell at 00 Aries— auspicious energy for new beginnings, and now our April Aries New Moon falls at 290 Aries— the last degree of Aries, the full completion of a cycle.
Aries New Moons feel like a new chapter is opening in your life, a deep impulse, a strong inner desire to walk your truth, own your LIGHT and break free from restrains of family or social conditioning. You may feel the push to take that leap of faith into something new. Aries is saying don’t overthink it, unduly question the impulse or just dip your toe in to test the waters. Aries is saying NOW is the time, make the leap a big one, just do it and don’t look back.
However with our April New Moon being our SECOND Aries New Moon in a row AND it falls on the LAST degree of Aries, there is a different feel this time around. This New Moon is like a ‘second chance’, another bite of the proverbial cake. If you found you procrastinated last month, experienced delays, danced around making changes but then hesitated or held back from coming through— well this New Moon is THE PERFECT TIME to take a deep breath in and do it!
With Mercury moving Retrograde the day after the Eclipse you may experience delays in seeing your leap gain momentum, but don’t be perturbed, the ripples of change will flow expansively once again in the second half of May 2023.

Hybrid Solar Eclipse
Our Aries New Moon Solar Eclipse is a 1 in 10 year Eclipse— a rare Hybrid Solar Eclipse which is both a TOTAL Solar Eclipse or an Annular Solar Eclipse (ring of fire) dependant upon your viewing location. Solar Eclipse’s occur on the New Moon, whereby the Moon moves between the Earth and Sun, obscuring Earth’s view of the Sun – hence the Sun, Moon & Earth are in a straight line.
Total Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon TOTALLY obscures Earth’s view of the Sun. A Total Solar Eclipse can only be seen in a small region on Earth along its transit line. If you are within the line of TOTALITY (such as Exmouth, WA), you will experience a Total Solar Eclipse this New Moon.
Annular Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon’s apparent size is slightly less that that of the Sun, hence the Sun behind the Moon appears as a very bright ring of light (an annulus, often referred to as the ‘ring of fire’) around the dark disk of the Moon. If you are just slightly outside of the line of totality, you will experience an Annual Solar Eclipse this New Moon.
The energy of a Solar Eclipse ‘obscures’ our vision forward, such that we can take time to reflect on the present and truthfully see how this relates to our past. The insights gained are not about dragging up old energy, or reliving painful events or experiences, but rather to positively reassess where you have been and use this knowledge to make quantum leaps on your path moving forward. Whilst a Solar Eclipse can create upheaval in your life, this ‘forced’ opportunity to reassess or re-evaluate your life provides a profound opportunity to leap into a new sphere of existence beyond your perceived limitations.
We are also shifting our Eclipse pairings from Taurus-Scorpio pairings over 2022-23, into the beginnings of Aries-Libra eclipse pairings over the coming years. Viewing the Solar Eclipse
Whilst those in Exmouth (Ningaloo) in Western Australia will be lucky enough to view the full 62 seconds of Solar Eclipse Totality, the rest of us around the Australia will experience a Partial Solar Eclipse. Here on the Sunshine Coast, Noosa (East Coast of Australia)— Maximum Eclipse is at 2:46pm.
