Speaking from my Heart, our Sagittarius New Moon Solar Eclipse + Grand Cross is a most reverent New Moon energy to bring our year 2020 to a close. 

As we head toward both the Galactic Alignment on December 19, followed by the The Great Conjunction on December 22,  I feel that this Solar Eclipse New Moon + Grand Cross is igniting the luminous threads of the Great Awakening.    

This powerful New Moon will LIGHT you up from the inside-out with potential.  And have you reverberating in luminous possibility toward a thriving New Earth.

New Moon in Sagittarius

New Moons are all about setting intentions for the forthcoming cycle… how perfect then that our LAST NEW MOON for the year falls in the Zodiac sign of SAGITTARIUS.  And that our New Moon is also being amplified through a GRAND CROSS & TOTAL Solar Eclipse.

Our Sagittarius New Moon feels so very alive, abounding with Joy, and fervently refreshing in her exuberance.  A welcome ray of solar-lunar-light after a year that has been quite challenging indeed.

She will demand of us to Step up. To break free of the illusion. To envision a more awakened experience of Heart & Soul for the year ahead. A guiding LIGHT of possibility & purpose over the coming cycle.

Personally I feel our Saggie New Moon is like a much needed AMEN in our lives.  I time to acknowledge the challenges & hardships of 2020, but also a time to gracefully sit in our hearts in gratitude for THIS MOMENT, as we envision a more awakened experience of Heart & Soul in 2021.

Grand Cross

As I discussed in my Numerology of 2020 article at the beginning of this year, easy is the not the word that comes to mind when I glimpse the energy of the year ahead.  There is work to be done.  There are so many broken bits that have lost their way.  There are so many shards that have forgotten they are part of the whole.  And thanks to Saturn, Pluto & Jupiter in 2020, my guess is that many of the pieces are yet to be broken-up in order to transmute excess and reveal a deep authentic & eternal beauty.

Well we sure have been experiencing the shattering of those shards this year… but now through our New Moon Solar Eclipse + GRAND CROSS we are becoming wiser to the callings of the cosmos.  A greater understanding of what has come to pass, and what is potentially unfolding as we enter 2021.

What is Grand Cross ?   A Grand Cross, also called a Grand Square, is whereby 4 planets are separated 90⁰ apart – hence two pairs of planets opposing each other 180⁰ apart.   Looking at the Astro Chart above,  the 4 aspects that make our Grand Cross are Vesta at 16⁰ Virgo, opposing Neptune at 18⁰ Pisces and then North Node at 19⁰ Gemini opposing South Node at 19⁰ Sagittarius, with the planet Mercury (communication) hot on the tail of the South Node at 20⁰ Sagittarius.  Together these 4 aspects form a Grand Cross.

Grand Crosses are HIGH VIBRATIONAL aspects that can feel intensely challenging,  but also highly charged with potential.   Grand Crosses create meaningful resistence that demands of us growth.  They help us to solve problems at hand from outside of the box.  And they awaken within us solutions from a higher place of consciousness.

So what does the Grand Cross energy for December 2020 mean?     Vesta oppositing Neptune is awakening us to the illusion of the ‘story’ of our World.   VESTA is the High Priestess who fans the eternal flame of our Hearts.   She guides us towards devotion, to commit to our highest aspirations, our greatest desires and helps us to keep the flames of our passions alight.   The lower octave of Vesta is presented by Earth’s Moon (Feminine) and the higher octave of Vesta is represented by the Alcyone, the brightest star within the pleiades (Silver Feminine Ray of Creation).  

The opposing Lunar Nodes, North in Gemini & South in Sagittarius are then guiding us to SPEAK UP and be a voice of greatest devotion.  To take action through written/spoken word.  To make the committment to serve something greater than you.   And to research, read, study, and awaken to the DIVINE word of Grace… and BE that voice of Grace in the creation of a more beautiful world.

If you have kept yourself small this year because ‘speaking up’ felt too vulnerable and possibly subject to ridicule or shame… well this this New Moon Grand Cross will have you challenge those parts of you that you are hiding away.  

Vesta will have you stand in the Sacred Flame of the Divine, and the Nodes will put you in the drivers seat of speaking / communicating from the Heart.   And Neptune will take you into the visionary dream of possibility and sacred voice of reverent change.

TOTAL Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius

Solar Eclipses occur on the New Moon, whereby the Moon moves between the Earth and Sun, obscuring Earth’s view of the Sun – hence the Sun, Moon & Earth are in a straight line. 

The energy of a Solar Eclipse ‘obscures’ our vision forward, such that we can take time to reflect on the present and truthfully see how this relates to our past. The insights gained are not about dragging up old energy, or reliving painful events or experiences, but rather to positively reassess where you have been and use this knowledge to make quantum leaps on your path moving forward.

A Solar Eclipse feels like a mega-amplified New Moon and can be been VERY intense.  But (and there is always a but) also has the potential to be wildly transformational… should we choose to surrender to the eclipses greater potential.

Well to be honest, Eclipses have the effect of pushing you to transform… and the choice comes into being as to whether you choose to transform the hard way (ie kicking & screaming) or surrender to a grander version of yourself with grace & ease !

Not only is our GRAND CROSS providing meaningful resistence and pushing us to transform, but so is our Solar Eclipse.   Bascially there is NO HIDING from this Moon.  

She sees you.
She demands of you to OWN your LIGHT.

The Solar Eclipse ‘obscures’ our vision forward, such that we can take time to reflect on the present and truthfully see how this relates to our past.  To positively reassess where you have been and use this knowledge to make quantum leaps on your path moving forward.

You could say that this Eclipse is unifying in that it is helping us to ‘see’ how we can build bridges between polarities of our world.  

What needs to change ?
What shifts need to happen in our personal & collective values ?
What structures, ideologies, beliefs are calling to be shattered in order to make way for a NEW ERA in nourishing, loving & regenerating Earth ?
