I am a registered osteopath currently working and living in Sydney. I am fortunate enough to be living in Manly, where you have a balance between the wild beauty of the ocean and the safe harbour – something to suit every mood :o)
I had a long and hard road to becoming an osteopath; first starting a course in maths and science, then studying and working as a massage therapist before relocating to Melbourne to finish my studies in osteopathic science.
I am very passionate about the philosophies of osteopathy:
- I the body is a unit, a person is a unit of body, mind and spirit;
- II the body is capable of self-regulation, self-healing, and self-maintenance;
- III the body’s structure and function are reciprocally related; and
- IV treatment is based upon these former principles.
Osteopathy recognises that it is the patient’s body that heals itself and that we are merely the facilitator, helping to remove blockages or restrictions so the patient can return to a healthy state. Osteopathy also recognises that a person is not only made up bones, muscles and organs, but the mind and spirit as well. Thus each of these aspects must be addressed in order for a person to return to good health.
My healing skills are a little unbalanced, mostly dealing with the physical body and emotional aspects of injuries and disease. So it is with great excitement that I embark on my next adventure – studying the Crystal Light Healing teacher’s course with Simone :o)
Wishing you health and happiness
