Tension can be felt when the Sun & Moon oppose each other on a Full Moon, but also this tension can be channelled as an amazing force of good. A catalyst of both profound realisations & heartfelt change.
During this months Full Moon, the Moon is in Aquarius, an air sign that embodies individuality, independence, fringed with eccentricity, but is also divinely humanitarian. Hey, I a married to a blessed Aquarian… so I am of course biased, but I do love them!
Opposing the Moon, is the Sun in Leo which is dancing with Venus in Leo (in fact Venus is nearly at exact conjunct at 22.450 Leo). As I mentioned in my August New Moon Post, Sun in Leo is about leadership, having the courage to stand tall and be ‘out there’ in the world, believing in yourself and standing proud in your voice, your gifts, being YOU. And Venus in Leo is about big hearted sensuality, yearning for relationship, sharing & expressing intimacy… a deeper yearning to be really felt & seen.
So now this is where it really gets interesting this Full Moon!!!
Independant Aquarius is being driven to challenge the meaning of relationship in life, from both a personal aspect (ie lovers, family, friends), but also from a greater relationship & humanitarian perspective- nature, trees, oceans, planet earth).
To understand this in more depth, and what ‘right relationship’ means, let me turn to ‘The Star’ car in the Tarot.
The STAR – Major Arcana, Tarot
The Star card within the Tarot, depicts the water bearer (Aquarius)… pouring the spiritual wisdom of the cosmos into the Oceans & Land of Earth. I do love the irony (& so Aquarian in nature), that Aquarius is an Air sign, yet her ‘higher mind’ wisdoms are imbued through sacred water. Water after-all is air (gases) Oxygen & Hydrogen condensed to create a liquid. A beautiful metaphor of how the unseen (air/aetheric field), comes into physical form.
To me this card represents our yearning for right relationship… and is so very relevant this Full Moon. The woman is naked, a humble vessel of the cosmos, not ‘taking’ from the Earth for her own needs, but rather pouring her urns of wisdom out into the world, and rippling it out for others to share.
She does it freely, kneeling in humble gratitude to the gifts Earth freely provides. Her Soul (star above her), and the 7 stars around her (the Pleiades, or the rainbow spectrum, 7 chakras) imbue all that she does and gifts to the world. The tree of knowledge guides her (Aquarius’s intellect, ability to think outside of the box), and the winged ones (the birds) offer her the whisperings of spirit medicine from nature.
Notice how big the star is… standing out, being individual, shining brightly colours the womans world with wisdom. She is grounded in all that she does (kneeling her left knee on the Earth), yet also intuitive, reflective, & feeling (right foot in the water).
She is at peace in right relationship with the land. She offers gifts of healing, peace, hope & restoration.
Now back to this months Full Moon…
This months Full Moon is about you being your own ‘water bearer’ this month, stepping into the wisdom of our starry self… being your STAR. Where there is heaviness in your life, burdens to hard to carry, or where your relationship with yourself or others are feeling strained or at a crossed roads… healing is at hand.
Lighten your load by reconnecting with the Divine Mother (the Earth, the Feminine through Venus), and pour your heart, your feelings, your emotions (water) out into the world.
The Sun conjunct Venus in Leo, opposing the Moon in Aquarius is guiding us to take a deep look into all our relationships – our relationship with self, with others & with the Earth. Are your relationships highlighting separation ? Are there aspects from yourself that you hide ? Have you divorced yourself from those that have views that differ to yours. Are you living in natural regenerative relationship to the land, her seasons, her cycles, her intuitive messages.
It can be easy to blame your partner for maybe ‘not being there for you’. Or feel upset that your circle of friends or community ‘aren’t sensitive to your needs’. Or feel angry or even helpless that government policy (or lack thereof) is destroying the planet at terrifyingly rates.
However our Full Moon in Aquarius not just highlights the problem in your relationship (where you are feeling upset, blaming, or helpless), but also offers solutions.
It maybe that a romantic relationship with your lover comes to an end, but this end enables you to fall back in love with yourself more deeply. It may mean that your relationship with your power changes… rather than feel a victim to government policy, you become inspired to join a movement that with drive the change that is need. Or it may mean that your reach out, speak your needs to your loved ones, friends & community and together in right relationship find ways to navigate disharmony, and instead foster unity within your diversity.
This Full Moon is about moving beyond the ‘stuff’ that fosters separation in our lives, and instead taking our selves to a higherplace- a place that seeks connection, that moves into a loving relationship with the immense diversity of life and ultimately inspires all sentient beings to shine in their inherent greatness.
