Finding your Bliss

Have you ever thought about what the meaning of Bliss is? We all talk about wanting to have a blissful life, but have you really defined what that means?

To me Bliss isn’t something you aim to achieve, or that state you reach when you have more money, when you reach the goal of a bigger house, faster car etc. Bliss is actually a state of BEing. How many times have you heard someone say they would be so happy if only they had………(I will leave you to fill in the blanks).

Interestingly enough, often when people obtain their goals which they presumed would produce Bliss, they are often still dissatisfied and reach for yet another or another goal in order to obtain the eluded Blissful state.

What this means is, Bliss is actually our state of thoughts, and perception of our realities of where we are at any moment of time. Lets look at some examples to see what this all means.

I know of many people who have achieved large degrees of financial wealth (and could easily never work again) but never feel they have enough, and are far from living a Blissful existence. Conversely, there are many people who have obtained wealth unexpectedly and within months lost it all again as they had spent it all trying to obtain Bliss but never found it.

Then there are others who lose a substantial amount of weight and achieve their ideal kg goal, but are still unhappy with how they look and don’t consider their life to be Blissful at all.

So if achieving future oriented goals is not the answer to Bliss, then what is ?

My advice is to live in the now, value every wonderful thing in our life (no matter how minute), and as you live in a state of peaceful serenity, gratitude and appreciation of just Being, you will attract more and more of those things in every living moment. This is what Bliss is.

Here is a quote from Sara Paddison, author of ‘The Hidden Power of the Heart: Discovering an Unlimited Source of Intelligence’ which helps explain what I mean:

“Appreciation is a powerfully magnetic energy that helps you see the wider picture faster. As you appreciate, you see more and understand more. On an energy level, it brings intuitive breakthroughs and helps you realize God is within you. Appreciation magnetizes you to the Universal flow. When you sincerely appreciate what you have in life, you magnetize more of your heart’s desires. Mathematically speaking, if people spent
half as much time appreciating what they have as they do complaining about what they don’t have, life would have to get better.”

And I just love the following quote from Neale Donald Walsch, author ‘Conversations from God’ (Book I):

“When you thank God in advance for that which you choose to experience in your reality, you in effect acknowledge that it is already here (it is done). Thankfulness is thus the most powerful statement to God; an affirmation that even before you ask, I have answered. Therefore never supplicate, Appreciate.”

So the key to Bliss, is really acknowledging in the present moment, in the now, that you are already in a Blissful existence and have gratitude and appreciation for Living, Love, Life. When you do this, you are Bliss, it is done !
