Finding PEACE in times of Global FEAR

With Mercury moving retrograde in Scorpio and the upcoming Lunar & Solar eclipses this month… is it any wonder why I have witnessed the most interesting week of fear/anger based communications in the media and on social platforms !

As I write this article, our world is filled with so much turbulence, struggle and pain; from the spiraling situation in the Middle East, the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong and the violence in Russia/Ukraine just to mention a few. Throw into the mix the devastating effects of climate-change, our national alert level being raised to ‘high’ and a political push that says we must fight fight fight to preserve our freedoms… is it any wonder then that people’s temperaments are being pushed to the limit and out of FEAR there is an emerging culture of angry people seeking to enact upon their fears through blame, hatred and rage induced retribution ?

The word ANGER is derived from the latin word ‘angere’ which means ‘to strangle’… which is exactly what anger does to you ! When you experience anger you are not using the cerebal cortex of the brain (conscious thinking / evaluation), but rather you are responding from the limbic system of the brain, a more primitive region that is reactive and with little regard to consequences. Anger is what fuels wars, anger is what destroys relationships and anger is what separates and creates divides. Anger strangles.

When I think of how/why people express anger I am always drawn back to these words by Marianne Williamson:

What is not love, is fear.
Anger is one of fears most potent faces.
And it does exactly what fear wants it to do.
It keeps us from receiving love at exactly the moment when we need it most.

Now don’t get me wrong, fear and anger are a natural part of the human experience and I certainly don’t believe that becoming more spiritually evolved means that you suppress or never experience anger and fear.   However, as you live your life from a place of LOVE, should fear/anger emerge from your interactions or perceptions of situations… fear/anger no longer control you but rather they become a divine evolutionary tool to help transcend old programs, both individually and collectively.

So this week, when I witnessed in the media the ugly side of fear/anger… for me it was a most sacred opportunity to look deeply within and choose to respond to the world from a place of love.   This is not to say I am laying blame, that I am being judgemental or that I am shaming those with different belief systems to myself… on the contrary, I just surrendered and allowed my response to blossom from my heart in a manner that I believe leads to peace. In the words of Wayne Dyer:

When the choice is to be right or to be kind, always make the choice that brings peace.

For me these words resonate so very deeply. In a world where we fight wars in the name of God, where we kill in the name of justice and where polarity creates a dysfunctional humanity… now more than ever we need to embrace what it means to live as a spiritual being in this human experience of the soul.

Let’s move beyond the primitive response of blame, of retribution, of fighting fire with fire and killing in the name of peace. Rather, lets consciously take self-responsibility for our emotions and as anger/fear comes to the surface within you, give it LOVE and reduce its power and hold over you. As anger/fear is being projected by others, LOVE others even more deeply and with all your heart, for it is the scared, frightened and terrified (ist) members of society that need it most.

How can you release the War & Anger within yourself & create PEACE from the inside-out ?

In this period of uncertainty here on Earth, it is integral that we release the war within our-selves, the hurt, the anger and the pain…. for this is the key to releasing the war in the collective consciousness of humanity and embrace our spiruality to its highest potential.

Sharing with you the following tips/tools for you to transcend fear and simply be the divine miracle of LOVE that you truly are through the word P.E.A.C.E.

Present
Be present. 
  Yes you have probably heard/read this many times before, but do you truly live in the present moment ? Fear/anger stems from your emotional memory of the past and hence you REACT based on your imprinted perception of the situation.   Conversely fear/anger can be experienced due to uncertainty of the future based on perceptional experiences of the past. Living in the present means living life from a place of grace. As expressed in ‘A Course in Miracles(ACIM): ‘Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Here in lies the Peace of God’.

Emotions_Energy
Emotions.  If fear is creating a war within in the present moment, take a moment to reflect on your perception of the situation, your emotions. Can you with 100% certainty say that your fear is 100% based on truth. If ‘Nothing real can be threatened and Nothing unreal exists’, then it is your perception or emotional response to a situation that gives rise to fear. As discussed in ACIM:
The world we see merely reflects our own internal frame of reference—the dominant ideas, wishes and emotions in our minds. “Projection makes perception”. We look inside first, decide the kind of world we want to see and then project that world outside, making it the truth as we see it. We make it true by our interpretations of what it is we are seeing. If we are using perception to justify our own mistakes—our anger, our impulses to attack, our lack of love in whatever form it may take—we will see a world of evil, destruction, malice, envy and despair.

Action
Actions:  Once you see that it is your perception of the world that creates your experience of the world, then it is time to Act to remove the blocks that prevent you from being aware of the presence of LOVE within you.  To quote the 13th century mystic Rumi:

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek, find (and transcend) all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”

Compassion
Compassion & Forgiveness.
  So how do we Act to remove the barriers or resistence within us ? We must come to a place of deepest and most sacred states of Compassion & Forgiveness of Self. As state in ACIM:

Forgiveness is the key to happiness. Here is the answer to your search for peace. Here is the key to meaning in a world that seems to make no sense. Here is the way to safety in apparent dangers that appear to threaten you at every turn, and bring uncertainty to all your hopes of ever finding quietness and peace.
Emotions_Energy
Energy:  In having compassion and forgiveness of self, fear is transcended as your true nature, that of LOVE is free to be expressed unconditionally. The energy you now emanate within your life and hence your e-motions heals and transforms by helping to transcned the barriers within others so they too may do the same.
