Eclipses come in pairs (and occasionally trios), such as a Lunar Eclipse which could be followed by (or proceeded by) a Solar Eclipse, and we experience Eclipses every six-months or so. When were are immersed in an Eclipse pairing, this is referred to being in the Eclipses Season. The energy of an Eclipse Season is felt in the couple of weeks leading up to the Eclipse (sometimes even longer), during the Eclipse pairings which are a couple of weeks apart, and then the couple of weeks after second Eclipse— meaning the energy of an Eclipse Season is felt for 6 or more weeks!
Eclipses are major or rather intense transits, that foster change, transformation, and possibly even major turning points in our lives. Being aware of when Eclipse Season comes into beingness, and how the energy impacts your personal chart, provides a brilliant opportunity to work WITH the energy, and make the most of these stellar energy events!
LUNAR ECLIPSES occur on Full Moons, whereby the Earth blocks the Suns rays from partially/fully reaching the Moon, thus the Moon is cast within the Earth’s shadow. Energetically, a Lunar Eclipse guides us to transcend negative patterns/old beliefs within the shadow self – a time to ECLIPSE anything that maybe holding you back. Keep reading below for a more in depth insight on Lunar Eclipses.
SOLAR ECLIPSES occur on New Moons, whereby the Moon moves between the Earth and Sun, obscuring Earth’s view of the Sun – hence the Sun, Moon & Earth are in a straight line. The energy of a Solar Eclipse ‘obscures’ our vision forward, such that we can take time to reflect on the present and truthfully see how this relates to our past. The insights gained are not about dragging up old energy, or reliving painful events or experiences, but rather to positively reassess where you have been and use this knowledge to make quantum leaps on your path moving forward.

Eclipse Key Dates 2025
On 12 January 2025, our Lunar Nodes shift into Pisces-Virgo for the next 18 months, which means we are beginning to leave behind our Aries-Libra eclipse cycle, and move into a new Pisces-Virgo eclipse cycles. This is a transition process, which means we will still experience one eclipse during 2025 in Aries-Libra (March 2025 eclipse).
During 2024, the March, April & October 2024 Eclipses all fell within the Aries-Libra axis, however we had our first taste of the Pisces-Virgo axis Eclipses during the September 2024 Lunar Eclipse, even though the Lunar Nodes were still in Aries-Libra. Listed below are the 2024 Eclipse dates for reference, as well as our Eclipse dates for 2025.
2024 ECLIPSES
Aries-Libra nodal axis (and eclipses) can bring out the authoritarian in people/nations, a desire to gain control over others, or people rising up and vying for self-authority. How this plays out could be through flare-ups in war zones, new conflicts arising, the possibility of global communication attacks/pandemics (eg cyber attacks, digital ID pushes) with Jupiter transiting Gemini from May 2024 onwards. North Node in Aries is all about our independence & self-authority. South Node in Libra is all about our partnerships & relationships. Hence the theme for 2024 is about balancing our need to be responsible for ourselves, versus our need to also join with others in community. Letting go of power-plays & control, but also not playing small and palming off ‘the hard stuff’ to others.
PENUMBRAL Lunar Eclipse in Libra – 24/25 March 2024
TOTAL Solar Eclipse in Aries – 8/9 April 2024
PARTIAL Lunar Eclipse in Pisces – 17/18 September 2024
ANNULAR Solar Eclipse in Libra – 2/3 October 2024
2025 ECLIPSES
Pisces-Virgo nodal axis (and eclipses) herald a time of great spiritual growth and healing. Both Pisces & Virgo both relate to healing (Pisces spiritual, Virgo physical), hence combined they cultivate a era that embodies bringing Divinity into the physical, imagination into grounded reality, and cosmic wisdom into tangible & accessible flows in day-to-day life. This is an era of letting go of control of every minute detail, and being guided by intuition and higher spiritual rays of Piscean energy in a very down-to-earth way. This is a time to slow down, take time to reflect & rest, and move forward from the Heart & Soul.
North Node in Pisces represents a call to embrace spiritual healing, compassion, and creativity. It encourages individuals to trust their intuition and flow with life’s imperfections rather than trying to control every detail. This placement supports the cultivation of empathy and understanding, inviting us to connect deeply with our higher purpose and the divine within all beings.
South Node in Virgo highlights the release of perfectionism, micromanagement, and a tendency to focus excessively on details. It suggests a need to let go of rigid structures and routines that may no longer serve us. This shift encourages a more flexible and adaptable approach to life, allowing for greater ease and fluidity in our daily experiences.
TOTAL Lunar Eclipse in Virgo – 13/14 March 2025
PARTIAL Solar Eclipse in Aries – 29 March 2025
TOTAL Lunar Eclipse in Pisces – 7/8 September 2025
PARTIAL Solar Eclipse in Virgo – 21 September 2025
Lunar Eclipse – Definition
A Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Moon is full and the Earth blocks the Suns rays from partially/fully reaching the Moon, thus the Moon is cast within the Earth’s shadow. Energetically, a Lunar Eclipse guides us to transcend negative patterns/old beliefs within the shadow self – a time to ECLIPSE anything that maybe holding you back.
TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE: A Total Lunar Eclipse occurs on the Full Moon when the Earth’s Umbra, totally obscures all of the Moon’s visible surface.
PARTIAL LUNAR ECLIPSE: A Partial Lunar Eclipse occurs on the Full Moon, whereby only part of the Moons surface is obscured by the Earths Umbra.
PENUMBRAL LUNAR ECLIPSE: A Penumbral Eclipse occurs on the Full Moon whereby the moon moves through the penumbral part of the Earth’s shadow hence this eclipse is very feint.
SUNRISE SELENION: A Full Moon Sunrise Selenion is a rare event where the moon and the rising sun can be seen simultaneously. During a lunar eclipse, the sun and moon are exactly 180 degrees apart in the sky. In a perfect alignment like this (called a “syzygy”), such an observation would seem impossible. But thanks to Earth’s atmosphere, the images of both the sun and moon are apparently lifted above the horizon by atmospheric refraction. This allows people on Earth to see the sun for several extra minutes before it actually has risen and the moon for several extra minutes after it has actually set…. thus the opportunity exists to see both the moon and the sun during the Eclipse.
Why is the Moon ‘red’ during a Lunar Eclipse ?
The reason the Moon appears RED when it is partially/fully cast within the shadow of Earth is because of Earth’s atmosphere. During the alignment of the Sun, Earth & Moon, light from the Sun glimmers through Earth’s atmosphere (atmosphere extends approximately 80km above the Earth) & the green-to-blue light of the visible light spectrum is filtered out, giving way to the deeper orangey-red tones of the spectrum. This reddish light is then refracted to the surface of the Moon (when viewed from Earth)
Solar Eclipse – Definition
A Solar Eclipse occurs on the New Moon, whereby the Moon moves between the Earth and Sun, obscuring Earth’s view of the Sun – hence the Sun, Moon & Earth are in a straight line.
Here are a few definitions to bring a deeper understanding of the terms used when describing Solar Eclipses:
TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE: A Total Solar Eclipse occurs on the New Moon, whereby the Moon moves between the Earth and Sun, TOTALLY obscuring Earth’s view of the Sun. A Total Solar Eclipse can only be seen in a small region on Earth along its transit line. Remember, never look at a Solar Eclipse with the naked eye as it can damage your retina – use Eclipse glasses always.
ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSE: An Annular Solar Eclipse occurs on the New Moon, whereby the Moon moves between the Earth and Sun and the Sun appears behind the Moon as a very bright ring of light (an annulus, often referred to as the ‘ring of fire’) around the dark disk of the Moon, as the apparent size of the Moon is smaller than that of the Sun.
PARTIAL ECLIPSE: A Partial Solar Eclipse occurs on the New Moon, whereby the Moon moves between the Earth and Sun and the Sun is only PARTIALLY obscured by the Moon as the Moon & Sun aren’t directly in line. A Partial eclipse is also seen from the majority of regions of Earth outside the route of the TOTAL or ANNULAR Solar Eclipse. Note also that some eclipses can only be seen as a partial eclipse, because the umbra passes above the Earth’s polar regions and never intersects Earth’s surface.
HYBRID ECLIPSE: A Hybrid Solar Eclipse is a rare eclipse where from some regions of Earth it appears as a TOTAL ECLIPSE where from other regions it appears as an ANNULAR Eclipse.
Lunar Eclipse – Energetics
When a Lunar Eclipse is a TOTAL Eclipse, the energy potential is at its peak. When a Lunar Eclipse is only a PARTIAL or PENUMBRAL Eclipse, the energetic influence is slightly weakened, though still very powerful.
A Lunar Eclipse provides a quantum opportunity to release deep-seated wounds, move beyond old fears and to transcend negative patterns or traits within the shadow self. It is time to ECLIPSE anything that maybe holding you back.
During a Lunar Eclipse it is an opportune time to do much inner-work, and illuminate yourself from the inside-out.
You will be inspired during the Eclipse/Full Moon to open your gifts to higher degrees of frequency and anchor these on the Earthly plane. It is time to take ownership and acknowledge your divine magnificence and shine brightly from within.
The specific energy of a Lunar Eclipse is also dependant on what sign of the zodiac the Sun & Moon (who are in opposition during a Full Moon) are transiting during the Eclipse.
