Loving Yourself

Last month I was absolutely exhausted after our move, and a few family events that happened unexpectedly… so I put it out there to our readers.. ‘What do you recommend re taking the time to Love Yourself’?

So here are the inspirational messages, poetry and collective thoughts of many of our beautiful readers.

It has been an absolute delight in bringing your wisdoms all together this month, and resonating with your insights. My sincere thanks and gratitude for your beingness.

Blessings
Simone

PS, I am feeling soooo much better now, rested, over my mystery virus (aka energy shift) and back in harmony once again. Thanks everyone for your healing words, energy, thoughts, love and inspirations… they all worked like magic !

Contributions from some of our beautiful readers…

Learning to Love yourself is a constant process. It is constantly acknowledging yourself for doing the best you can, being the best you can be and acting from this perspective in every moment. But it is not only the action, it is also those thoughts constantly going over and over in our mind.
Keep check on them and change them to ones that come from that completely Loving part of each and every one of us. Usually this part of us is hidden under layers of old patterning and conditioning. Acknowledge that this is also a part of us, then work to clear it away, bit by bit to reveal the completely Loving self. In revealing this, you will sense the deep Joy and Bliss of simply being and the connection to every other living thing on this planet.
Make time to connect, acknowledge and thank this aspect each and every day for it is in this act, that it will grow and expand, spreading a blanket of Love across our world.

Hi Simone, and anyone else who chooses to live the ” Solution”. Here is a little piece I wrote a while back, it serves to help keep me in the moment, and remember why I am here. I pray you enjoy it.

The only way I can rectify the past,
Is to enhance the present.
Each moment well lived gives birth to a good memory.
In extricating the negative,
And initiating the positve,
I no longer need to take,
But become willing to give.
And it is in giving,
That I acquire true freedom,
Becoming one with all,
All that I can be.
In a world swollen with pain,
Forgiveness brings integrity,
To an otherwise hopeless sense of being.
So Dear God,
Please bestow upon those without,
The desire to give,
And forgive,
Removing all passive doubt.

Enjoy, and have a wonderful life, Peter.

Hi Simone
I have so many thoughts/phrases about my journey with lymphatic cancer that I do not know where to begin. However i must admit that one of my first feelings after being diagnosed was my lack of self love and self worth and in particular now feeling ‘dirty’ for have lymphoma where my cells have turned against themselves!
So I started here, reviewing the criticism and pain from my mother and how this affected my self esteem etc etc and then started on affirmations and really feeling them, like I am LOVABLE, I am LOVE, LOVING….
My most strong feeling now with my illness, is that it is now time for me, especially since it is uncertain how much time I have anyway, even though the prognosis is good. Time to love and nourish my body, to know that I am special and lovable, do what I enjoy doing (Taking Abbey dog to the beach instead of feeling that I should be at work!)and be with people who matter and avoiding negative energy in all its forms and oh, time to play with crystals, my special loves.
And my strongest feeling now is that I AM going to get better and I just feel so grateful for all the positive, loving energy and care that I have received from so many people – family, friends, noosa hospital staff, even people I barely know have been praying for me. I am so touched and blown away that I have to breathe hard to receive it.

Practicing what Louise Hay says – “Sam – I love you, I really, really love you” and also what I’ve just learned in a wellbeing course that I’m currently doing – “what other people think of me is none of my business!!!” Oh and just getting out of a beautiful crystal bath 5 minutes ago.
I used to be quite worried what people thought of me, not any more, I’m now free to be me with greater ease!
Love and light to you and all of you readers.

As lightworkers, I believe we work very prominently in our masculine energy, healing, teaching and spreading our own message of light into the world. When we are a little unbalanced in this, as we all are from time to time,We re balance by being in the feminine energy of receiving. Sometimes we may do this of ourselves, planning retreats, a massage, holiday or some such, however I think sometimes outside circumstances pressage this.
We could say it’s our guides urging us to ‘me’ time, life, not keeping our vision clear but self critisism is neither helpful nor in any way advantageous. Simply indulge in the change that life has wrought for you.
Honour your humanity and receive from friends and neighbours and heal yourself. Self nurturing seems to be one of the most interesting lessons on our path, to get the balance between our passion for our work and our family , our selves and our many obligations. We teach so much by our example, in honouring this ‘quiet’ and reflective time of your life you help all who listen to you to do so also.
Blessings,

I’ve been receiving your Universal Life Tools e-mails for some time now, and greatly appreciate what you are doing. You are one among many around the world who are doing your part to spread the love to each and every one of us and open our awareness to things greater than our mere sensory perceptions.
Thank you.
In response to your request for ideas, stories and comments, I thought you might be interested in checking out my blog, ‘Awaken to One’. This blog is the precursor for a website and spiritual community I am developing here in the U.S. that I hope will serve as a kind of repository of information, insight, and alliances for people who are looking for and needing answers, nurturing and spiritual nourishment that you so eloquently speak us. It is the online part of a non-profit organization that I have started here called Awaken to One Alliance.
The “Alliance” part of the equation is something that I hold with great importance, and I hope that in the coming months we can work together towards a mutual goals of spreading light throughout the world and universe. In these troubling times it is needed now more than ever. Thanks for your time, I hope you get some adequate rest after your move, I surround your son in healing light and I wish you all the best.

I used to prioritise work and sacrifice play, with the feeling that one day I would get to the end of all the work and then I’d have time for play and creativity. Then I broke my arm and had to slow down! During the slow months of recovery – it was a bad break – I have spent a lot of time having healing, acupuncture, physio and eurythmy and came to see how important it is to give to myself.
Now I treat myself to a day out with a friend or a walk in a beautiful place so I can be nourished by the land. Once I would have felt guilty at taking time out. Now I love it and am energised by it.
with love,
Elisabeth

What I wanted to share with you is that, years ago I had a reading with a lovely lady, who suggested that I take a day to myself once a week to replenish my energies. She said to talk to no one, have no outside imputs, such as reading, watching tv or listening to music, only be with myself and do creative things. In this way I could get in touch with myself again, instead of being influenced and affected by my outside world.
I thought it was a great idea, but havent managed to make it a regular thing. Even just half a day. When i get more of a settled life I would like to implement it more.
Hope you get something from this.
Gotta go.Have fun

In the past, my yang/masculine side dominated my experience;
I found myself pushing to manifest in the material world even if
it didn’t seem balanced. Even if I felt fatigue, or spiritually thirsty, I took little time out to nourish my soul, thinking that I had to “make enough money.”
Now I’m re-creating my money paradigm, and leaning on Spirit much more. I’m remembering that through connecting with Source, goodness manifests more powerfully, than any other way.
A spiritual slogan that emerged in my consciousness:
“Money takes care of a lot of things, but Spirit’s Grace cares for much more.”

You are such a powerful yet gentle Goddess in the world. I so love everything you do and say. I totally honor the Goddess you are that is needing refreshment and extreme self loving right now. Drink deeply in your stand for this planet and refresh yourself with the nectar and nutrition of grace blessing you. All you have given is returning to you and at your service.
I have just finished (this week) a gorgeous CD for women to love themselves much deeper from the inside out. I have named it, or it has named itself, “The Divine Feminine Garden Within”. It has definitely been in charge of powerfully creating itself in sections of brilliance, beauty, pleasure, grace and brazen vitality.
I have dedicated it, and it has dedicated itself, to women experiencing loving themselves deeply in these beautiful virtues of their internal garden growing in their second chakra. It is about standing in your own PRESENCE and actually who you are in that stand. The CD is my very first physical, tangible gift to the world as I turn my hobby of doing “Women of Brilliance & Grace” teleclasses into a real business that actually makes money. I am intending that by doing this I support all women being blessed with abundant finances and blessing your business with huge financial and planetary success also.

Hi Simone, I hope you enjoyed your short “time out” and are now refreshed (might I also suggest a KaHuna Masssage for some nurturing). I don’t normally write any of my thoughts down, so this is my first.
To nurture yourself, to sit down and enjoy and be fully aware of your surroundings may take “time” , but to love yourself only takes the thought.
Blessings, love and peace to you and your family

Setting boundaries could be one of the most overlooked skill in the Universe!
A boundary is normally looked upon as a guideline or post mark, something dimensional.Love is omnipresent and everywhere. Boundaries are too.
How is it when it comes down to the loved ones and family life we let down our boundaries all for the name of Love?
Good question, and one which will have many answers and all will be different concerning each individual who reads this article. Let us look at this from another angle.
If we were in the workplace our employer would set boundaries and we would deliver within the boundaries.
Being a parent allows lots of opportunities to set boundaries ones where certain things become off limits or gone too far.
Each individual will have different standards and regulations and there outlining points for correct boundaries would take up all the page. Therefore that’s work for you in another journey.
A Love Boundary is a contract between you and yourself!
One which you will start after reading remembering 5 important things!…..
1. Who you Are?
2. What is your Purpose?
3. Where is your Border? With work.. with family… with yourself
4.What are your Limitations?
5.How much time do you devote to yourself daily?
Hmm really got you thinking now haven’t we… a boundary of Love…..
A limit to where one will go or travel
as in a boundary of a continent or borderline of love !

One of the lessons I have learned about loving myself, is choosing to do what nurtures me. I spent most of my life nurturing everyone else for several reasons. One of the biggest reasons was that I believed it was my responsibility. As one of my friends said, I had a career where I majored in responsibility.
The payoff for me was approval from others. Well that was really hard work and rewards were fleeting. Along the way, I had enough sense and guidance to find books, classes etc that began to open my eyes and heart. I found out that I wouldn’t be “alone” if I stood up for myself.
Low and behold, the more I learned to love and nurture myself, the more I was loved and appreciated. The more I honored my creativity, the more it expanded. The more I focused on love and forgiveness the more abundant my life became on many levels.
I just celebrated my 70th birthday. I had a massage, a facial, a beautiful celebration with loving friends and family. I completed my first two large oil paintings.
One of them was ordered by someone in a class I was in who saw some pictures of my paintings. She heard me explaining how I use crystal and angel energy when I paint. As a result of that class and the realization that my painting is more important to me than appts and running around, I had 5 other paintings requested from that class. I have learned to set the boundaries that support who I really am. As a result, I create joy, love and beauty for myself and others. Yeah!!
Thank you for loving yourself and giving the opportunity to others to share their lessons. Blessings

I spend a number of ways giving love to myself.
Walking in nature and being in the “now” and experiencing the magnificence of the scenery. So powerful and you can feel the “love” from the nature. Just so beautiful and delightful.
Another one for me is going to have a “healing massage” for about 90 minutes and then taking the rest of the afternoon off to do something like read a book.
I just love having a bath – bubbles, candles and maybe a good book.
Hope that helps.
Blessings

Thank you for this months Messages of Love. So happy you are getting settled in your new surroundings. Many blessings come your way.
Kudos for knowing your body’s need for R&R. Truly loving yourself is an amazing feat; one we humans have struggled with for centuries.
One of the best strategies for me has been “mirror talk”. Every morning and every evening (and even throughout the day) I look into a mirror, gaze deep into my eyes and say “Sharon (your name), I LOVE you, I truly love you. You are amazing and I am so happy to get to know you. Thank you for all the help and love you have given me. I love you with all my heart.”
Now, at first you might feel a little silly, but in a very short amount of time you begin to believe you words and you find that you really do love yourself. For me, I can truly identify that I AM LOVE.
It is a blessed feeling. Of course, we are all love…we have just forgotten. Looking into the mirror, I believe, helps one to connect to the soul; the part of us that does remember who we are. It has made a tremendous difference in my life and I am sure that it will for anyone who decides to practice self-love.
The love in me blesses the love in you,

PS Blessings to Callum. I know you will both feel better very soon.

Just a quick note re setting boundaries and loving myself.
I am a new mum with a demanding 8month old son who does not believe in sleep and is always on the go. One of the ways I take care of myself is to take the time (even if it is in 5minute blocks) to read my email newsletters.
Those such as your own and the other uplifting email newsletters I subscribe to. I did for a while just delete them with the thought of “I don’t have time. By the time I read it it will be old news” Then I realised uplifting, invigorating and loving messages are never old news!
Thank you for all the uplifting moments in my day

Firstly I would like to thank you sooooo much for all the info you have sent me, very much appreciated.
And secondly congratulations on your new abode, it sounds absolutely fabulous:-)
You asked for a quote for Love:-
“People spend a lifetime searching for happiness; looking for peace. They chase idle dreams, addictions, religions, even other people, hoping to fill the emptiness that plagues them. The irony is the only place they ever needed to search was within.”

The way that I have come to understand it, we are fast approaching the end of the Nano-Second that started in 1987. As things are speeding up Spirit is telling us to SLOW DOWN!! We are all on this Merry Go Round that we have created and believe that we have to get it all done NOW!
The truth is we need to stop, reflect, get a new perspective on what is truly happening on Earth Mother, us and the Cosmo’s. I see the world speeding up all around me I have to keep reminding myself that I have to stop, rest, nourish and replenish myself in order to keep doing my work. I hope you, your son and family are all doing well and strong again.

Taking time to love yourself is undoubtingly one of the most important things that you can do for yourself and all around you. I work as a Kinesiologist and have found the main theme for most of my clients is just that, acknowledging that it is important to make ‘ME’ time and offering yourself the love and support as we do to others.
We are all capable of it, just consider what you did for others today. What can you do for yourself? Is the question I ask. It is truly amazing how many consider time out for themselves to be a selfish thing. I usually advise little steps to start with. I encourage them to explore things that they would enjoy doing or taking up something that they once enjoyed but gave away because life got in the way (others needs, wants and desires).
I ask that they allocate what time they think they have to achieving this new goal (be it once a week, 10 minutes a day, whatever resonates with them). I then ask that they commit to it. It is truly wonderful to hear the feedback and learn that their feelings of guilt have now shifted and are able to set aside this special time. Once we learn that we are capable to giving to ourselves, our need to have others fill this void is also lessened.
Our need to spread ourselves out too thin, out of fear or guilt also changes. My personal space involves drawing. Lighting some incense and playing beautiful music. It is a tremendous creative release for me. It is my time and it brings me much joy when I am doing it. If I have experienced a heavy day, I find I am able to release tension immediately as soon as the pastels hit the paper. It is truly an expression of who I am.

We are living human lives and here to learn spiritual lessons from a human prospective; in saying that i believe boundries are the same as rules. but due to our human vessels rules and boundries are not affective and/or applicable for many reasons. ”” .. I will say if you feel this strongly about this situation you must set these boundries for yourself to find make or schedule the time needed to rest in your special place with your greatest love your [spirit / soul ]

Be Gentle with Yourself – I’m sitting on the riverbank by the Yarra at Warrandyte in Victoria. It is very tranquil. The sound of the birds in the trees around me is magic. There are three little brown ducks zooming around on the water in front of me. The breeze is tussling my hair and whispering gently as it caresses the leaves in the treetops. A lonely leaf spins silently, falling towards the water.
Absolute peace.
Absolute tranquillity.
How often do we have the opportunity to just sit somewhere magical? I know that I mostly let these moments slip through my fingers, but as I sit here now, I realise how vital it is to grab these moments.
Just sitting here I feel more peaceful, more calm, more able to deal with the challenges I have faced this last week. We all have stressful times and they can tear us apart, if we let them. Challenging times can make us feel as though we are coming apart at the seams. And moments like now, places like this, stitch us back together.
When was the last time you allowed yourself the luxury of just sitting, just being, in a beautiful place, with space. All your senses alert to all that surrounds you.
We all find our tranquillity, our magic, in different places. It can be the sea, the mountains, wide-open spaces or the closeness of a cave. It can be completely away from nature. For some the best, most tranquil place to be is right in the middle of a busy café, in a busy city, surrounded by noise and bustle. It doesn’t matter where you get your tranquillity, just so long as you do get it.
Wherever you feel gentle comfort, that’s the place you need to go to Refresh, Revitalise, Restore.
Be gentle with yourself. You are all you’ve got.
