Spirit Quartz are simply magic, and once you have experienced this crystals energy, you will never be without one in your home. If you are looking for a special piece, take note that they may sometimes be called Cactus Quartz, Faerie Quartz and Pineapple Quartz.
These mystical pieces are found exclusively in Southern Africa, and have only been available on the world market since 2002. With the presence of un-oxidised iron they range in colour from a rich purple, to violet and if the iron is oxidised the crystals become a golden citrine. If you find an amentrine Spirit Quartz (Amethyst & Citrine), hold onto it as they are quite rare. Without the presence of iron, the crystals are a sublime white.
What makes these little darlings so special ? Lets start with their distinctive physical structure. Spirit Quartz has a central shaft that terminates in a point at its peak. This shaft is then covered in hundreds and sometimes thousands of smaller crystalline points which spiral around the body. This unique structure is possible due to the presence of jasper, which supports multiple crystallisations.
