Yesterday was Friday the 25 July, the ‘Day out of Time’ Day in the Mayan Calendar…. and I had the most magickal and touching experience like you wouldn’t believe. But before I get to that, here is a little about ‘Day out of Time’.
The Mayan 13 Moon Calendar is a system (unlike today’s Gregorian Calendar) which calibrates our energy field with the rhythmic cycles of Creation. The Calendar is based on 13 Moons (months) each of 28 days, which creates a full year cycle of 364 days. Thus this 13 Month, 364 day calendar is then brought into synchronisation with our Solar Cycle through the additional day called the ‘Day out of Time’.
‘Day out of Time’ falls on the 25 July each year, and was a dedicated day as it related to the Sirius (the ‘Dog Star’) rising with the Sun. This day is revered and celebrated around the world as an opportunity for stillness and to connect with the conscious recognition of eternal time and concept of ‘Time as Art’ instead of a linear passage of history.
Now back to my Magickal Experience…
On the morning of the 25 July, I awoke before day break and headed down to the beach to watch the Sunrise and soak up the energy of the day.
Just as I crossed over the sand dune to make my way down to the water, within the blink of an eye, a tiny Swallow (small bird) swooped down by my face and the very tip of its wing lightly touched my cheek.
As you can imagine I was quite startled at first (after all I also had only just got out of bed 5 mins before) but then I felt such an amazing sensation of joy and a delightful tingling sensation all through my body.
On returning home I looked up my book on Animal Spirit Energy (by Scott Alexander-King) and this is what it said about the Swallow:
Swallow Spirit Energy: Swallows were once celebrated to be birds of Heaven, sent to Earth as Emissaries of the Angelic Realm… they are portents of new beginnings, LOVE and considered symbols of the Goddess. Swallows are spiritual guides inspiring, teaching, healing… and they point to positive change, new life and opportunity.
So what a divine energy for NEW YEARS 13 Moon Calendar EVE, to take us into a whole new Solar Cycle of Conscious Evolution… LOVE LOVE LOVE.
