GENERAL MEANING: New Moons
The NEW MOON represents the beginning of our 29 day lunar month. During a New Moon, the moon is roughly sitting between the Earth & the Sun, hence the Sun is shining on the ‘dark side of the moon’, the side of the moon we never see. As a result, we cannot see the moon as the side that faces the Earth is not illuminated.
The Moon & the Sun emanate frequencies and these energy waves influence the tides, and all life forms on Earth, including human behaviour / consciousness. In addition, during a NEW MOON, both the Moon & Sun are in the same Zodiac sign… giving an exponential boost or concentration of the energy.
The SUN represents our ‘outer-world’, our identify, our personality, our ego. It represents how we ‘shine our light’ out into the world, the present moment, our yang or masculine archetype expression. The Sun offers us strength, courage and illuminated insight of the Soul.
The MOON represents our ‘inner world’, our hidden emotions, desires, our shadow-self, fears/worries and our dreams. It represents our feelings, our unconscious beliefs, the past and our yin or feminine goddess archetype. The Moon offers us the ability to feel, learn from the past and creatively unlock and express our essence.
During a NEW MOON, the side of the moon that remains invisible to us here on Earth is being illuminated by the Sun. Thus our own ‘invisible’ side, our inner feelings, emotions and desires are also being illuminated during a new moon. During this illumination, we are given a window of opportunity to start a fresh, let go of the energy of the previous cycle and set our intentions, dreams & inner-most desires into conscious action.
The NEW MOON is a great time to set your intentions, write down goals or begin new projects for the forthcoming cycle. Consider sitting in ceremony or personal meditation and affirming to the Universe your intentions & inner-most heartfelt desires for the cycle.

Our March NEW MOON falls in the Zodiac sign of ARIES – this is the perfect time (after lasts weeks March Equinox and February’s Lunar Eclipse followed by the Solar Eclipse) to stand in the light of YOU
The firery energy of this Aries New Moon will feel like a new chapter is opening in your life, a deep impulse, a strong inner desire to walk your truth, own your LIGHT and break free from any restrains of family or social conditioning.
You will feel the push to take that leap of faith into something new. Aries is saying don’t overthink it, unduly question the impulse or just dip your toe in to test the waters. Aries is saying NOW is the time, make the leap a big one, just do it and don’t look back.
You may feel that everything – your dreams, desires, projects, work, relationships – suddenly become urgent in your life and every goal must be reached today (or even yesterday!). You may feel a restless passion to get things done, a sense of frustration or impatience at anyone/anything that gets in your way and a blinding fervour that becomes all consuming
Whilst this New Moon may feel a little like January 1st, a time to get your plans off the ground and into the heat of action, be conscious that impatience or making rash decisions at the spur of the moment, has consequences as we head into the April Full Moon.
My advice during our March Aries New Moon is to surrender to the inspiration & passion that will rise up you, let go of the go that may want to control/dominate what you are feeling and allow your Heart-n-Soul to lead the way.
You have the opportunity to recognise within yourself this New Moon that YOU, yes YOU are here to make a difference, and it is time to step into the light of that truth with grace and ease.
Our March Aries New Moon is being amplified exponentially by the conjunction of Venus Retrograde PLUS the alignments with Fixed Star Algenib, opposition with Jupiter, as well as Saturn conjuncting the Galactic Centre. Please keep reading down the page for all the details.
ENERGY: Other Alignments on the New Moon
Venus Retrograde, Fixed Star Algenib & Jupiter
During our 27/28 March New Moon at 7.370 Aries – both the Sun & Moon are conjunct (within a few degrees) of both the Fixed Star Algenib at 9.230 Aries and the planet Venus (moving Retrograde) at 3.170 Aries. Plus the Sun, Moon, Algenib & Venus are in a very weak opposition with Jupiter (click on the diagram right to enlarge).
VENUS: As I discussed in my article on Venus earlier this month, Venus represents the Divine Feminine archetype, the embodiment of love, beauty, sensuality, passion & desire. Venus is often experienced as the great attractor – both how we attract things into our lives and our attractions to things in our lives. By things I am referring to relationships, resources, possessions, & money.
When VENUS transits RETROGRADE, you may find that the world takes on a different hue. What you previously experienced as beautiful, seductive and tantalisingly sexy, now tends to be seen through different eyes. This is not bad, but rather a primal urge to move deeply into the recessess of the Goddess and uncover a more transcendent LOVE & beauty than you have ever experienced before. Venus Retrograde makes way for the for the flourishing of a deeply primal ancient feminine energy that is enduring and deeply transformative.
FIXED STAR ALGENIB: (also named Gamma Pegasi) is a white star of the Constellation of Pegasus. Algenib sits on the tip of the wing of the Pegasus (winged horse). Algenib is approximately 390 Light Years from Earth (1 LY is 9.5 trillion km) is a large star nearly 9 times our Sun’s mass and with a luminosity nearly 6,000 times that of our Sun. Algenib helps us to open are own wings and soar to new heights. To see the illusion of our 3D world, or the constricting beliefs of our ego and rise above and beyond our perceived limitations.
Algenib forms ‘The Great Square‘ (click on image right to enlarge) with 2 other stars in the Pegasus Constellation – Markab & Sheat – and then the 3rd star is Alpheratz in the Andromeda Constellation. Energetically this Great Square acts as a portal between worlds, a channel of ancient wisdom and quantum knowledge. As Algenib conjuncts the New Moon (the Moon & the Sun), the Great Square is being activated and ‘truth’ is being revealed to us at this time.
JUPITER: Jupiter (abundance, luck & expansion) is currently expressing itself through Libra (harmony, justice, truth, partnership, social, diplomacy) until Oct 2017. With Jupiter transiting Libra we are being guided to build and work in partnership with others and pursue common goals through harmonic teamwork. We are inspired to find peaceful resolutions in our lives and find ways to come together despite our differences… finding ways to be kind and co-operate with each other via a collective vision. You may find during this time that your group of friends/work associates change, you may change your style (eg clothes, hair) and you may change the way you market yourself/business. In the face of extreme polarity this year, Jupiter in Libra is calling us to stay grounded and hold our balance/centre/equilibrium in the face of polarized circumstances.
Get ready for a portal of higher knowledge awakening to us at this time through The Great Square and when combined with the GALACTIC CENTRE conjunct SATURN (see below)… who knows what heights we may fly to over then next 2 week window of our March 2017 New Moon energy.
Galactic Centre
The Galactic Centre is the central black/white hole of our Milky Way Galaxy – or as I refer to in Crystal Light Healing, the 8th Dimensional Portal of the Cosmic Gateway (Cosmic Heart), that is a mirror reflection of the 1st Dimensional Portal of the Earth Gateway (Earths Heart).
The Galactic Centre is a powerful transmitter of energy waves known as ‘Waves of Love’. Since 1987, the vibrational frequency of these Waves of LOVE have been increasing in intensity and will continue to do so as we move toward 2040, the Golden Age. These Waves of Love are facilitating a shift in consciousness; an evolutionary leap for humanity into a new Earth; an awakening of humanity from the dream and into a multi-dimensional reality.
Coming into 2017, the Galactic Centre was/is:
- Conjunct our Sun on the 18 December 2016, drawing us to step into our Greater Evolutionary Purpose.
- Then on our February 2017 Lunar Eclipse the Galactic Centre (GC) played a major role in the Stellar Pentagram
- Now for the next 6 months (Feb to June 2017) planet Saturn will be conjuncting Galactic Centre at 27.05 Sagittarius.
Saturn is the bringer of wisdom, our deep exploration of our karmic-ancestral beliefs & imprintings and the awakening to wisdom of the Soul. When Saturn conjuncts the Galactic Centre… we are bringing an end to the old stories of our lives, our world, our human experience and simply setting ourselves FREE. We close the chapter on our lives of having to follow rules that constrain our wildly passionate Hearts and step into an awakened story of divine beauty and Sacred Wealth of Soul.
As Saturn conjuncts our Galactic Centre of the following months in the lead up to our August 2017 eclipses, those who are prepared to embrace change with WHOLEHEART, who are prepared to step into the unknown (as scary and as vulnerable as that may make them feel)… will catalyse a tsunami of LOVE WAVES set to transform the world stage.. unlike anything we have seen/experienced in our lifetime.
