As the raging storms of change are whirling around us in this moment, this New Moon asks that you let go of the need to have all the answers now. A hard line to take under Capricorn I know! Become COMFORTABLE with NOT KNOWING. Let yourself move into a state of Heartful Vulnerability. and finally liberate yourself with the FREEDOM of FLOW. Become like a river and flow to your Ocean of Love.

New Moon CAPRICORN Energy
Our FIRST NEW MOON for the year is our New Moon in Capricorn. New Moons are all about setting intentions for the forthcoming cycle, and the first New Moon of the year helps us to find a rhythm & pace for the year ahead.
Capricorn is an EARTH sign, and is grounded, practical, dedicated & determined towards it’s cause… which makes it a great New Moon to take us into a New Year. However, our January 2021 Capricorn New Moon has a few twists and turns to it, that in my opinion both amplify and accelerate the potential of this New Moon in transformational ways.
Whilst Capricorn usual guides us to put pen to paper, make a plan, and create the steps that will engage us in bringing the plan to life…. THIS Capricorn New Moon has a very unique and different feel to it.
There is certainly a PLAN, but the plan is way more fluid than our usual Capricorn New Moons. Let me try to explain what I mean by firstly reflecting back on the past – at our Last New Moon in Capricorn, and then the transits happening this time last year, and finally the impact on Pluto on our January 2021 New Moon.
New Moon CAPRICORN – 2019
The last time we had a New Moon in Capricorn was on December 26, 2019. And this New Moon was also an Annular Solar Eclipse, where by the Moon passed in front of the Sun, creating a ring of fire around the Moon. This last 2019 New Moon in Capricorn was a push to transform.
This last NEW MOON in Capricorn had us stare deep into the past. To see how the present was product of the past. To see that plans that are made within the story of the past, only create more of the ‘past’. Or like they say in computer programming ‘junk in = junk out’.
If we are going to change, this last 2019 New Moon in Capricorn reminded us that change comes from building an entirely new model which leaves the old model to behind. And this is exactly what we saw throughout 2020. We found that the old model of the world was no longer malleable to change, as the capitalist model of competition, struggle & survival no longer represented who we are as Human Beings evolving into a New Earth Age.
And so the shattering began during 2020…
This time last year – January 13, 2020
On this day last year, 13 January 2020, Saturn & Pluto were conjunct in Capricorn, (see chart below) and this conjunction set off a domino of Saturn-Pluto-Jupiter conjunctions throughout 2020. This conjunction of Saturn & Pluto was viewed as a Global Saturn Return, a shakeup of our very foundations, deep assessments of our core values, and a transformative leap into a New Era for Earth. An uprooting of the established order and a re-balancing of power, equality & freedom. The effects of which are felt for years to come.
Hmmmm…. well Saturn & Pluto sure did shake things up in January 2020, and in fact the entire year of 2020 was a pulling a part of established order in the lead up to The Great Conjunction of Jupiter & Saturn in Aquarius 22 December, our transition into the Age of Aquarius.
And now what does this lead us into for our first New Moon of 2021 in Capricorn, a New Moon which is also conjunct Pluto ?
Capricorn New Moon 2021 + Pluto
As I mentioned above, whilst Capricorn New Moons usual guide us to put pen to paper, make a plan, and create the steps that will engage us in bringing the plan to life…. Our January 2021 Capricorn New Moon has a very unique and different feel to it.
This in part is due to everything I have discussed above, but also in part due to this New Moon CONJUNCT Pluto. Ahh… blessed planet PLUTO playing a major role again, just like it did this time last year.
Pluto conjunct our Capricorn New Moon is engaging us in TRANSFORMATION. And when I say transformation, I mean transformation to a level like we have never seen before.
An intensity is building like no other.
The division is intangible.
The old is broken.
There is hurt, anger, frustration.
A deep grief & sadness of being ‘done over’ by those in power means transformation is inevitable… and PLUTO is rocking our EARTH element foundations big time.
With Uranus moving direct on the 15 January, this explosive feeling or urge to LEAP will be exasperated, so expect the unexpected at this time. ANYTHING is on the cards. I feel something will emerge that extends a LIGHT into the darkness… but maybe not in a way that is anticipated !
Whilst this divide hurts. Maybe even has you on edge. Or has an intensity that burns at the core of your being. There is a reverent way to engage with this moment, let me share with you.
Engaging with our Capricorn New Moon

This is a NEW MOON, and in fact an entire year to be co-creative. To move with flow. To engage with the wisdom within your Heart and follow a grander intuitive intelligence of the Cosmos. A Universal 5 Year in Numerology heralds CHANGE… and its how your engage with that change that will either move you in the direction of LOVE, or keep you trapped in the old dark world of fear.
For a start, turn the TV off.
Phew, doesn’t that feel better already.
All that adrenaline fuelled sensationalised ‘journalism’ will only bring your energy down, and keep you locked into the story that is crumbling.
Instead, work with the EARTH Element on this Capricorn New Moon. Listen to nature. Hear the wisdom of our Ancient Ancestors as it ripples through your blood. Breath in the LOVE that streams through the breeze. Rise up in joy in the flutter of a butterfly. And evolve through the sounds codes with the buzz of bees. Move out of the ‘man-made’ vibration of this world, and EVOLVE through the higher intelligence of the natural world. THIS is where the NEW STORY of our world is seeded from.
