Silencing our Voices – Incremental steps towards Totalitarianism

I remember nearly a decade ago now, when Brené Brown gave her now viral TED Talk on the Power of Vulnerability.  That video had a profound impact me on the time, and in fact I shared that video in my Teacher Courses,  well before Brené became a household name.  I have embedded the Video at the bottom of this page in case you missed it!

Here is one of my most cherished quotes from her talk:

Courage is a heart word. The root of the word courage is cor – the Latin word for heart.

In one of its earliest forms, the word courage meant “To speak one’s mind by telling all one’s heart.”  Over time, this definition has changed, and today, we typically associate courage with heroic and brave deeds.

But in my opinion, this definition fails to recognize the inner strength and level of commitment required for us to actually speak honestly and openly about who we are and about our experiences — good and bad.   Speaking from our hearts is what I think of as “ordinary courage”.

In garnering my own vulnerability, and taking heed of Brené’s wisdom that ‘Courage’ is speaking from the Heart, this has been my motto over the last 12+ months in sharing these Health Freedom Resources.  

Whenever I have felt stung, dejected, hurt, emotionally hammered, or down right terrified from speaking out, I have then turned attention to Brené’s other video the ‘Man in the Arena’ and have made the in-Spirit decision that coming out of my cave and standing in the Arena is morally the right thing to do. 

No matter how much I LOVE the comfort of my Cave, NOT speaking up is in fact active complicity with those who do NOT have our best interests at heart.   And again, I have also embedded Brené’s ‘Man in the Arena’ video as well below.  Now back to why I have sharing this post today….

 

Silence from Doctors & Media on COVID treatments

Last week I shared with you a wonderful video with Dr Naomi Wolf & RFK Jr about the abuse of power, standing up to tyranny and preserving our Constitution. Wolf explained how tyrants always follow the same predictable route in their attempts to bring democracies to a close and how she believes our society has reached “Step 10” of her “Fascism in 10 Easy Steps.”    And as you may have guessed it, the suppression of FREE SPEECH is one of the 10 steps.

Now in this video below, RFK Jr speaks with Peter McCullough, M.D., MPH, who is the Vice Chief of internal medicine at Baylor University Medical Center, and who provided testimony on Nov. 19, 2020, on potential COVID treatments during the Senate’s Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearings, Early Outpatient Treatment: An Essential Part of a COVID-19 Solution.

In the Video interview below, RFK Jr & Peter McCullough, M.D., MPH talk about how the Medical Community & Media are silencing ANY efforts to talk about alternate treatments that have an abundance of science that support their efficacy.  AND he believes that 85% of COVID deaths could have been prevented through early treatment.

I highly recommend this Video as it offers a deep insight into the inhumane way ‘powers’ have silenced information in getting out there and ultimately lives has been lost as a result.  Once again the questions begs.. why ?

 

Silencing Debate – Another Step towards Totalitarianism

I shared this post back in January 2021, but there is something more I would like to add, particularly as it relates to what is unfolding here in Australia.  Let me give a little background about my earlier post to refresh your memory…

Imran Ahmed, a member of the Steering Committee on Countering Extremism Pilot Task Force under the British government’s Commission for Countering Extremism and the chief executive of the Centre for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), told The Independent he considers anti-vaxxers “an extremist group that pose a national security risk,” because “once someone has been exposed to one type of conspiracy it’s easy to lead them down a path where they embrace more radical world views that can lead to violent extremism.”

In other words, Ahmed implies that people who question the safety and necessity of a COVID-19 vaccine might be prone to violent extremism — a defamatory statement that has no basis in reality.  And by that definition, that would mean all the resources I share within these Health Freedom Resources would place me within his ‘violent extremism’ category.  Isn’t

The CCDH wrote a report “The Anti-Vaxx Playbook,” where it identified six leading online “anti-vaxxers” — Barbara Loe Fisher, Joseph Mercola, Del Bigtree, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Sherri Tenpenny and Andrew Wakefield — and outlined an alleged anti-vaxxer “plan to attack a forthcoming COVID vaccine” based on remarks made by speakers during the Fifth International Public Conference on Vaccination, sponsored by the non-profit, National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) and held online October 16 through 18, 2020.    Regarding that last statement, Barbara Loe Fisher is the CoFounder & President of the NVIC – you can view her Video Response here – The Truth will set us Free.

Silencing debate in Australia

Now keeping keeping all of this in mind, it concerned me this week when I read a number of newspaper reports here in Australia, about how ASIO (Australian Security Intelligence Organisation) has changed it’s wording around terrorism.   In this article – ‘Words matter’: ASIO ditches ‘right-wing’ and ‘Islamic’ extremism labels as it changes its language on terror – ASIO says they will stop referring to “right-wing extremism” and “Islamic extremism” to talk about violent threats, saying the labels are “no longer fit for purpose”.  

Instead, ASIO will now refer to “ideologically motivated violent extremism” and “religiously motivated violent extremism” – two umbrella categories that better describe the phenomena security agencies are seeing.  Maybe at first glance, this could appear to a good thing, and as Mr Burgess the ASIO boss said himself, the term “Islamic extremism” can be seen by Muslim groups as “damaging” and “misrepresentative of Islam”, and one that stigmatises them by “encouraging stereotyping” and “stoking division”. 

But lets take it a little deeper… In this article, the view of what ideological extremism begins to come to light.  In fact it makes me wonder, does my sharing of this post with you today put me in the category of being an extremist?  To quote Mr Burgess:

“People often think we’re talking about skinheads with swastika tattoos and jackboots roaming the backstreets like extras from Romper Stomper, but it’s no longer that obvious… Today’s ideological extremist is more likely to be motivated by a social or economic grievance than National Socialism. More often than not, they are young, well-educated, articulate, and middle class – and not easily identified…  The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in violent extremists spending more time at home in “the echo chamber of the internet on the pathway to radicalisation… They were able to access hate-filled manifestos and attack instructions, without some of the usual circuit breakers that contact with community provides,”

Now I am NOT a proponent of violence in any form, but I AM a proponent of FREE SPEECH, and believe that rigorous debate is the cornerstone of ANY democracy.  It’s not hard to see how ASIO is potentially setting up a manifesto that enables anyone who ‘attacks instructions’ (ie questions the Governments response) and dares to demand open, clear & critical debate, could now be deemed as an ‘ideologically motivated violent extremist’.

I believe we ALL need to think with deep critical minds & intuitive hearts about what this means for our freedoms moving forward. 

What will our world look like if people become labeled as being a danger to the Nation, simply from asking questions that contradict the ONE Story of Government ?    What if I ended up being locked-up for sharing my Global Health Freedom Resources?   Or you yourself are locked up [or at worst shot at] for daring to gather a peaceful rallies where you question the narrative of Government?   Isn’t this another step along the path to what happened in Nazi Germany ?

Remember in the Handmaids Tale, when June is ruminating over how society came to be this way, and then declares:

“I was asleep before.
That’s how we let it happen.

And then you wake up.”

Change happens incrementally, and all of a sudden you can find yourself in a totalitarian nightmare.  As Margaret Attwood herself said  “Well, we always hope for the best, don’t we?  So we think it can’t happen here. “Oh, they would never do that.”

When Margaret was asked ‘What do you think is the tipping point, how would we know if we were beyond the point of no return‘, she said “The point at which you know you’re under totalitarianism is when a peaceful protest crowd is fired upon [think of water cannons in Europe, or TearGas at rallies around the world].   You’re getting close to it when that happens just a little.  But when you have a full-out shutdown, then there aren’t any more protests because people know what will happen. Or there’s such overwhelming protests that it can’t be controlled.

We are ALL called upon to reach deep within ourselves, and make choices that ensure we never get close to that dark ‘point of no return’.  Lets be mindful of every incremental change, and not be the proverbial frogs in boiling water.  Lets wake up, choose vulnerability and speak truth with Courageous Hearts.
